2006 - A Review In 2006 Gerry Duffy and his clients caught and released 2,400 pike. The pike were caught on several methods including jerk baiting, sink and draw spinning, fly fishing, trolling and float fishing. The fish varied in size from 3lb to 6lb to 8lb and many doubles with the heaviest fish weighing 27lb 6oz and lots more over the 20lb. Gerry and his clients also enjoyed brilliant trout fly fishing for brown and rainbow trout with record numbers being caught and released. Gerry’s coarse fishing clients also had a brilliant year with good nets of tench, bream, rudd, hybrids and roach. Gerry’s clients came from all over the world in 2006 including America, France, Holland, Finland, Germany, Romania, Sweden, England, Northern Ireland and even Ireland itself.
Gerry is now in a position to offer a complete package deal including accommodation, rods and reels, bait, lures and guiding. All the angler has to take with him is wet gear and wellingtons. Gerry would also like to thank his team of dedicated guides without whom the season would not have been so successful. His guides are: Peter Lynch, who has dedicated all his life to fishing for pike with great success. Jimmy Scotson has been a pike and game angler all his life and has travelled the world in pursuit of all species. Jimmy was recently featured on the BBC’s Coast to Coast and anyone who has seen the programme knows of his dedication to angling and his skills. Brian Keoghan is a professional, qualified angling guide in both pike and game angling. His skill with a fly rod is a joy to watch and would have to be seen. He makes it look so easy. He has guided many top names in the angling fraternity including Jack Charlton. Gerry is fortunate to have such a brilliant team of guides who will do everything they can possibly do to ensure clients have a good fishing holiday.
