Welcome to The Irish Angling Guide for Guided Angling, Fishing, Boat and Angling Ghillie/Guide Hire in the Cavan, Monaghan, Louth and North East Region of Ireland.

Your host Gerry Duffy, based in Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, is an experienced angler with 40 years experience and an intimate knowledge of the Fisheries and secret spots of this beautiful region. Gerry is a retired fisheries officer and an all-round angler, Gerry specializes in fly-fishing for pike.

Gerry offers fly-casting tuition for beginners and improvers, but also caters for Autumn / Winter Pike fishing. Gerry keeps up to date with training in First Aid, Rescue and Emergency, Radio Telephony, Sports Coach UK and has a National Powerboat Certificate Level 2 RYA.

The North East area of Ireland is rich in Coarse Angling, it offers a diverse choice of angling locations and Gerry will ensure you have the best advice and opportunity to have an enjoyable angling experience at a relaxed and friendly pace.

Other amenities in the area include horse riding, clay-pigeon shooting and golf.

Gerry also provides an excellent game angling service. One of his favourite rivers is The Fane, which was featured in Trout and Salmon, September 2005 (Feature: Border Crossing). Other rivers he fishes for trout and salmon are The Dee and Gyde. There is also lakes in his area which hold good stocks of brown and rainbow trout plus triploids.

Gerry now classes many of his customers as his friends as most of them return annually for different types of angling.

All of his guides are professionally qualified and will do all they can to ensure customers have good fishing.
